What do you want?

I am here - just trying to catch my breath from all the stuff that has been happening. I would love to post what all we have been up to, but I don't have time right now! ha!

What I would love though is to hear from you (if anyone is left. . .hello?).

I want to hear what you want me to write about. Do you have any questions for me? Suggestions, ideas, comments, etc. . . . all are welcome!

So, let me hear from you!

And I promise to be back to my regular blogging schedule, sooner than later, I hope!

Why It's Not Africa, but. . .

After our family decided to work on the mission field in the USA and more specifically the midwest (where Mark & I grew up and currently live), I decided to journal our story.

I began by writing how God directed our steps into this not so typical mission field and how as a kid I thought if you were a missionary, you went to Africa. I wrote, "It's not Africa, but young people in America are in crisis."

The phrase It's Not Africa, but. . . just stuck in my head and hopefully gets and keeps people's attention for two reasons. First, I hope that people will follow our journey. Secondly (and most importantly), I hope that it will serve as a reminder. A reminder that while we definately need to continue to reach out to other countries, we have a huge need here in the US to share the hope and life that Jesus offers to our family, friends and neighbors.
